It\u2019s not a brand-new programme, but an exciting evolution. At Toddle, we\u2019ve been busy getting everything ready for these updates. We\u2019re excited to share that over 100 schools are already exploring the enhanced MYP with us.<br>Curious to give it a go at your school? Schools on the beta trial can start exploring these updates right away. Here\u2019s a quick walkthrough of the main changes and how we support them.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-flexible-simplified-unit-planning\"><strong>Flexible, simplified unit planning<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Schools can now create or adapt planners that work for their context, without necessarily adhering to the IB template. Planners should be living documents that reflect local priorities, student interests, and authentic contexts, and not compliance checklists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The statement of inquiry is replaced with an <\/em><strong><em>inquiry question<\/em><\/strong><em> or <\/em><strong><em>inquiry statement<\/em><\/strong><em>. Now, each subject group has a single set of specified concepts, and schools can also add their own, such as \u201cjustice\u201d or \u201csustainability,\u201d to reflect local priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>For teachers, this means more freedom to design learning that feels authentic and connected to students\u2019 lives. Concepts act as helpful anchors for content and learning experiences.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Toddle, you can now:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Access updated lists of subject-specific concepts at a click.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add pedagogical and classroom strategies that teachers can define to support conceptual understanding.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Map concepts across all years of the MYP with admin tools.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add local or school-specific concepts easily.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"updated conceptual framework\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/1116737937?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Enhanced global contexts and new contextual lenses<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Global contexts remain, and new &#8220;contextual lenses&#8221; have been added: individual, local, and global. These lenses help students connect learning to themselves, their communities, and the wider world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Teachers can design units through content, concepts, global contexts, or lenses. This creates more entry points and supports personal and meaningful learning.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Toddle makes this possible by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Updating the planner to include the three lenses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adding prompts to help teachers think about strategies for developing contextual focus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supporting planning that centres on real learning connections rather than formalities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Acting as a thought partner to guide deeper pedagogical choices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Enhanced global contexts and new contextual lenses\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/1114845474?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-more-agency-with-the-atls\"><strong>More agency with the ATLs<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The 5 main skill categories haven\u2019t changed, but schools no longer need to use the 10 skill clusters or describe skills in a set statement format (&#8220;In order to&#8230; students must&#8230;&#8221;). The new focus is on dialogue, relationship-building, and reflective action.
