When approaching course design, consider the interplay between different building blocks as outlined below and in the illustration.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/codahosted.io\/docs\/H5UYEZ7T-5\/blobs\/bl-8JaN2QK9cz\/c9df6b73f8bb2fdccb02b2dbfde064ea20de3df20d104704836f4cf89b3629eccd58b11e2b8d7bcecb1a295a6e3bbc4b28b337aacceb11cb6b40d253b213d53933b00ffa3b036b95cf4ebe6abfde92d805e03fb67400663cd18c12bb21e46edd257c5674\" alt=\"pasted image 0.png\" width=\"345\" height=\"363\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>This interplay allows us to explore knowledge from an anatomical perspective via the<strong> knowledge framework<\/strong> &#8211; scope, perspectives, methods and tools, and ethics &#8211; as well as the <strong>knowledge questions<\/strong>, which serve as a map to explore the concepts, themes, and AOKs, resulting in an understanding of what we know and how we know what we know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Designing the course<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>So how can you design a TOK course while ensuring that you give importance to all the elements? Here are three suggested ways to go about planning a TOK course: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/codahosted.io\/docs\/H5UYEZ7T-5\/blobs\/bl-3iEd_g1bFI\/00035ba9b80a610d6bea99d6f376cc6c7addc9e7a4546ff536909db6c39a835b4a189beae4783cc683900f3c0b49b358d15043011bc1191b2cb6e38f002fd29a214b1b3f08fe0a2f14b5cf860d83523eefbf5804b7c1b28f09190ec4a75209faf2fde593\" alt=\"Screenshot 2023-01-11 at 11.24.15 AM.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Regardless of which approach you choose, ensure that the pointers below are addressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maintain a sustained focus on the core theme<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Address the knowledge framework elements in unit planning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consistently integrate TOK assessment skills into all units<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integrate appropriate ATL skills necessary for assessment success into all units<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cover the two optional themes in Year 1<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete the TOK exhibition end of Year 1<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete the TOK essay halfway through Year 2<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Learning experiences are an integral part of course design for TOK. Some prefer to have one teacher; others opt for a group of teachers.
