In the MYP, assessment is always aligned with the subject objectives<\/strong>. This is achieved by using subject criteria, strands, level descriptors, and task-specific clarifications.  Here\u2019s an overview of how all those components are connected to each other:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we begin designing a task, we start with the subject aims<\/strong> and objectives<\/strong> in mind. The task should clearly indicate which subject objective(s) the students will demonstrate and the criteria<\/strong> the student is being assessed on. The strands<\/strong> – or rubrics – associated with each of the criteria being assessed will establish what is expected of students and the level descriptors<\/strong> will indicate the grades you would award basis the quality of work submitted. Further, the task-specific clarifications <\/strong>will provide further detail to your students about what success looks like in the context of the task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
