In the language and literature classroom, where interpretations come in all shapes and sizes, it is important to illustrate how students should approach their responses. Using assessment exemplars is a great way to do that! Not only do exemplars provide guidance on what students are expected to do, they also encourage student ownership of learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">We\u2019ve curated an exemplar of a student response to an IB-style paper 2 prompt. We\u2019ve also included teacher annotations and a markscheme to illustrate criteria-specific facets of the response. Use this exemplar to help students recognise what high-quality work looks like and foster a deeper understanding of assessment expectations for paper 2.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group learnings has-background\" style=\"background-color:#fff6f3\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ideas for using the resource:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have groups of students grade the exemplar and then compare notes about the final grade each group awarded<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Give students unannotated copies of the exemplar and have them mark these up with reference to criteria-based requirements.
