About the Meet-Up<\/gwmw><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Are you a new MYP coordinator wondering how to get started in that role? We\u2019ve got you covered! Join us at this virtual workshop to learn about your key responsibilities as an MYP coordinator, discuss strategies for succeeding in the role, and building your network with coordinators from other schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The half-day Meet-Up will take place virtually and will feature four sessions. During each hour-long synchronous session, you will be able to interact with our session leaders and the other participants on how to navigate this new territory, gain clarity and exchange ideas. There will also be asynchronous activities that will give you the opportunity to reflect and jot down your thoughts and curiosities between the synchronous sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Session 1: Unpack the responsibilities of the MYP Coordinator\u00a0<\/strong>
    This session will help align the MYP philosophy with your personal teaching philosophies and your key roles and responsibilities as an MYP Coordinator. By the end of this session, you can expect to have a more nuanced understanding of what is expected of you in this role, and how you can best deliver.\u00a0<\/gwmw><\/gwmw><\/gwmw><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    10:20- 11:05 AM GMT (45 minutes)<\/em>
    Session 2: The MYP Coordinator as a pedagogical leader<\/strong>
    During this session, we will zero-in on the opportunities, that your day-to-day as a Coordinator presents, to support your teaching teams pedagogically. We will explore situations where you can provide inputs on teaching and learning practices and exchange tools & strategies for building better collaboration at your school.\u00a0\u00a0<\/gwmw><\/gwmw><\/gwmw><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    11:35 AM- 12:20 PM GMT (45 minutes)<\/em>
    Session 3: Brainstorm on managing your time for success<\/strong>
    As a school leader, you will always find yourself racing against time. This session will identify some of the common barriers to your success as a Coordiantor, and facilitate a conversation around the necessary know-how to overcome these barriers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    12:20- 1:30 PM (1hr 10mins)<\/em>
    Session 4: Designing an MYP Action Plan for your school <\/strong>
    One of the most crucial responsibilities you have as a Coordinator is to design an Action Plan for your curriculum, and ensure that it is executed well. At this session, we will brainstorm on the different approaches to designing an Action Plan and dive into strategies for school community buy-in and implementation of your curriculum goals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Please note that this is a limited capacity event. In order to have meaningful discussions, and provide personalized guidance, this Meet-Up is capped at 200 participants.     The half-day Meet-Up will take place virtually and will feature four sessions. During each hour-long synchronous session, you will be able to interact with our session leaders and the other participants on how to navigate this new territory, gain clarity and exchange ideas.\u00a0 Each session has dedicated time for group activities, as well as guided reflection breaks that will give you the opportunity to share your experiences, and jot down your thoughts between the discussions.\u00a0<\/gwmw><\/gwmw><\/gwmw><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Session 1: Investigating the key tenets of the MYP <\/strong>
      At this introductory session, we will dive into the workings of the MYP curriculum and establish links between your classroom practices and the MYP philosophy. You will also have an opportunity to get familiar with the specificities of your MYP subject. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      <\/gwmw><\/gwmw><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      10:05- 11:05 AM GMT (1 hour)<\/em>
      Session 2: Planning MYP units<\/strong><\/strong>
      Robust unit plans are the backbone of the MYP. In this session, we will cover the fundamentals of unit planning and unpack the key elements of an MYP planner. We will also brainstorm on best planning practices and review sample planners. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      11:35 AM- 12:35 PM GMT (1 hour)<\/em>
      Session 3: Design your own learning experiences <\/strong><\/strong>
      With an understanding of unit plans in place, this session will guide you through designing meaningful and enriching learning experiences for your subjects. We will establish links between the big-picture of unit plans and how this can be brought to life through the experiences you plan for students. You will also work collaboratively to design a sample learning experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      12:35- 1:30 PM GMT (55 minutes)<\/em>
      Session 4:  Assessments and command terms in the MYP  <\/strong>
      This session will dive into assessment expectations for the MYP. From understanding grading to unpacking the nuances of command terms, once you\u2019re done with this session, you will be well on your way to understanding assessment requirements in the MYP. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
