The personal project is a culminating project for the MYP. Students investigate an area of their choosing and interest in order to create a product. As a part of their learning journey, students create action plans and specifications for their project and reflect on the process and its outcome. This project ties together the students’ understandings as they near the end of the MYP. It allows them to demonstrate their ability to use the skills and knowledge that they have developed over the five years of the programme.
This resource is designed as a ready-to-use repository for all things personal project for your MYP students. It contains downloadable templates for students to meet each of the four criteria for the personal project, as well as actionable guidance. Students can choose from a variety of templates provided to design their plans, create success criteria and evaluate their products. There are tools to help students document their use of the ATL skills as well. It also provides space for students to reflect on the project overall and the impact on themselves as learners.
