The School Showcase will feature school teams sharing their approaches to fostering inquiry in their learning community.

Eligibility requirements
  • Participating schools can share work pertaining to any grade level, subject, or teaching and learning initiative.
  • Participating schools should make sure their content is authentic and focuses on approaches that foster inquiry in the learning community.
  • Participating schools should make sure they have the requisite parent permissions when sharing student photographs, videos, or work samples.
  • Each participating school team can comprise upto 3 members.
What we mean by inquiry
As there are a myriad ways to interpret inquiry, we are taking inquiry to mean the following for the purposes of the TIES showcases.

Inquiry is an approach to learning that:

  • emphasizes the learner’s role in the learning process
  • is contextual and purposeful
  • involves a process of exploration
  • leads to student wonderings and discovery learning
  • empowers learners to investigate, connect, synthesise and communicate ideas
  • provokes thinking and tests discoveries to develop understanding
  • invokes meaningful engagement and learning transfer
Application process
Initial application process
Fill out the application form and submit a 3-5 minute video showcasing an approach or practice to foster inquiry within your school community.
Video submission criteria:
The video should make the practice come alive. It should include:
  • Classroom photos and video clips
  • Work samples
  • Input of student voice and school community

The teaching and learning strategies used should be clearly identified in the video through interviews, labelling, or voice over.
To note: All submitted videos will be hosted on Toddle's Youtube channel and on the TIES 2022 website!
Shortlisting
10 of the submitted entries will be shortlisted to ensure a wide array of rich practices. Considerations will include diversity in location, school type, school size and topic of showcase.
Showcase at TIES 2022
3 members from each shortlisted school will be invited to set up a “virtual booth” at TIES 2022. The virtual booth will be an opportunity for school teams to:
  • Share videos and strategies
  • Present authentic resources that may be useful to teachers everywhere
  • Provoke questions and inspire educators from around the world
  • Build relationships and network 1:1 with like-minded educators
  • All 3 members of the shortlisted school teams will also get free All Access Passes to TIES 2022

Selected schools and educators invited to share at virtual booths
