Getting authorised as an MYP school is a journey: it takes time, planning and effort, but if you
approach it with openness and a sense of adventure, it can be transformative!

Did you know that one of the most rewarding things about the MYP is that teachers get to be involved in designing and delivering the curriculum? That means they get to take ownership and create a curriculum that best suits the needs of their students!
Designing the curriculum is an ongoing process, where teachers select concepts, contexts, objectives and ATL skills to include in their units. They then use the Subject Group Overviews and ATL planning documents to ensure that all the skills, objectives, concepts and contexts are being explored across the curriculum.

When it comes to applying for authorisation, you'll need to develop and submit some assessment tasks. It might take some time and effort, but it's an important part of adopting the MYP approach to assessment.

Developing these documents isn't something you can, or should, do alone. The IB philosophy emphasises the importance of consulting and collaborating with your school community, which includes families and school leadership. With everyone's input, you'll be able to create fantastic documentation!
